Question

I know Viagra is a pill that has something to do with giving men erections, but how does it work exactly?

Answer

Viagra is for men with erectile dysfunction. This is basically a medical condition that prevents a man from achieving a satisfactory erection even if he's feeling turned on. Available on prescription, and under a doctor's supervision, Viagra can help erectile dysfunction sufferers to get hard when it matters most (i.e. for sex). However, there are people who misuse this drug by buying it through various sources and using it for recreational purposes.

The easiest way to describe the way that Viagra works is that it relaxes the muscles of the blood vessels, which increases blood flow into the penis. This only works in response to sexual stimulation, however, so a bloke has to get excited before it works. You don't just take it and suddenly have an erection. Like any drug, Viagra can have risky side effects like dizziness and problems with your vision.
